No boot device detected, insert system disk

Newly built computer

Check BIOS, SSD is priority 1 and all other drives disabled.

Every time i turn my computer on i get "No boot device detected, insert system disk"

I have to manually boot computer from pressing F11 and selecting SSD

It seems like the computer forgets which drive to boot from every time i turn it on even with the correct drive always selected in the BIOS

any thoughts? Dont really want to have to press f11 everytime i turn it on and manually select boot drive

Thanks

As previously stated, the SSD is set as boot priority one. Every time I enter BIOS, SSD is set as boot priority one. This is the drive that has OS installed on it. The error still occurs even with correct boot drive selected as boot priority one.

My BIOS Boot settings are the following;

"Boot \ Hard Drive BBS Priorities
Boot Option #1 ACHI P3: Kingston SV3....
Boot Option #2 Disabled "

"Boot option Priorities
Boot Option #1 AHCI P3: Kingstons SV3
Boot Option #2 AHCI P0: CD Drive
Boot Option #3 Disabled "

I may have just fixed my issue.

I disconnected all drives (SDD, HDD & CD Drive).

Connected HDD, a message saying the OS can not be loaded. This confirmed my OS was installed on the SDD.

Connected SDD and HDD, OS loaded from SSD.

Then connected SDD HDD and CD drive and it loaded it fine.

Check BIOS. Displayed the same settings as I listed in the comment above.

Still unsure what the problem was (may have been a lose stata cable)

Fingers crossed the error wont appear again but if anyone knows a possible reason why it could have happened, please let me know!
