Hey, I've been having low FPS in WoW. Whenever i change the priority in my task manager for the cpu it make the fps go up by 20-30. I believe its my CPU but i'm not too sure. I just got a new graphics card and power supply during December so i think both of those are out of the question. Any of your output would greatly be appreciated. Thank you for your time :)
Here are my PC Specs
GPU- Radeon HD 7870
CPU-AMD FX 6120 Six-Core Processor (6CPUs) ~3.5GHZ
Power supply- 750W
Ram- 10gb

What screen do you have, and how is it connected?

I had one of those cards and tried to run two screens. My fps dropped when I added the second 27" monitor. Almost any active area with more than 15 people or raid/dungeons would drop me to 15-20 fps.

Admirable
An extra monitor, especially a high res 27" represents a considerable hardware load to your graphics card, and somehow people never put 1+1 together.

The fact that you need extra graphics power to plug in another monitor, nonono it couldn't possibly make any sense, that extra monitor's image is powered by magic, yes...

My FPS in a big city with people in it is 20
I have 1 monitor my resolution is 1600x900 and it is connected by DVI cable .
My previous card was some random 40 dollar card no idea what the name was.
My PSU is a cx750.
The only thing i can think of is my CPU being the problem because i have alot of ram and the graphics card is pretty much brand new. And i don't think this CPU is good. I also just updated the drivers and cleaned my computer and there its still low fps : \

There is AMD Overdrive I wouldn't recommend it thought.
Overclocking a CPU is easy, you just only need to do your research.
You should be able to push it to about 4.2ghz without alot of effort if you have decent cooling.
Don't overlock if you have a stock cooler.

The CPU is a mid range CPU if you compare it to another AMD FX CPUs but it has very low single core performance, because in FX, two cores share what's known as the front-end of the processor - fetch and decode stages - and, further, both use a single floating-point unit. This means that two-thread performance isn't quite as impressive as for a chip using two distinctly separate cores so a decent i5 would beat a fx 6120 easilly.

and if you have a stock cooler I would suggest you to DO NOT DO any overcloking, but if you really want to keep a close eye at the temps make sure they dont go higher than 65C-70C

Hmm I would suspect the CPU yes, given how much WoW tends to load onto one main thread the single core performance may be hurting it somewhat.

It may be worth investigating how much load your CPU is under when playing the game. The graphics card should have no trouble at all, so look into the CPU load whilst playing, that should tell you if you're experiencing a bottleneck. This would show up as close to 100% load on 1 or more threads.
