Hey all.
I've been having this weird problem ever since i discovered that my dvd drive sata cable was unplugged since the tab is broken on it. Now ever since i put it back in, my rear exhaust fan led gets louder than quieter 3 times. Now that's similar to whenever i press the reset button a certain amount of times the fan gets louder. When I disconnect the sata coming from the dvd drive, it doesn't do this. Any advice? Thanks in advance.

Yes I tried another port on the motherboard. But why would i need to move the fan to another header? I doubt it's that

I plugged the fan in the other headers. Still same erratic behavior, I even unplugged the fan, it still reboots 3 times before starting. It wouldn't make a difference if i plugged the fan back in with power on.

I have finally found out what the problem was. Apparently I have bad ram. I discovered this by checking to see my specs in my pc's settings. It said i had 8 gigs of ram installed, with only 3.96gb usable. So I tested by checking each ram stick and seeing if the ports were damaged. Hope this helps anyone.
