First thank you to this community as you've provided a plethora of information for all my computer needs.

I require some assistance as I've received a request to build a server for a small accounting firm.

Specifically they want a server to:

Backup files
Host the website from it
Extract files from it

They have requested a quad core Xeon with 8gb of RAM and 2 500gb HDD in raid 1.

I would like a parts list along with the cost of this setup. Any and all help is appreciated.

Regards.

Web and file servers need to focus on hard drive capacity as well as Internet speed. I just wanted to mention that the processor on a server is not quite as important, but the Xeon is recommended for servers due to its efficiency.

I would get 8GB DDR3 Corsair Vengeance RAM for the server http://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Vengeance-Desktop-Memory-...

I would get this case: http://www.amazon.com/Rosewill-Black-Computer-REDBONE-U...

this motherboard http://www.amazon.com/MAXIMUS-VI-HERO-Motherboard-Gener...

and this processor http://www.amazon.com/Intel-E3-1245V3-Quad-Core-Process...

And this power supply http://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Builder-EPS%C2%A080-certi...

The case holds the capacity of 6 3.5" hard drives. Seagate Barricuda has a 1TB one very cheap. The case has 3 fans also. For the website, a good program to use is XAMPP which includes Apache, MySQL, PHP, and Perl.
