Hello, I just bought the BenQ XL-720Z monitor. It's 27" and is 144hz (spent a crazy amount of $ on it). I am trying to get the settings to 144hz or 120, but in every setting I go to it says the max HZ is 60. I am using a HDMI cable and running it on 1920x1080. My GPU is a GTX 680 4GB

What is Dual Link DVI? I plugged my normal DVI cable and I am now running on 144hz. Also, I was referring to the built in speakers on the monitor.

The dual link one just has more bandwidth. The one you have is probably dual link. Im not too sure about what you can do about the speakers. Just use headphones, get separate speakers, or buy an hdmi cable that can support 120hz.

I just got in game with it on 144hz.. I'm playing CSGO and I am getting 250+ FPS but it looks like I am playing on 10 FPS.

Any motion is extremely laggy - dragging a window around the screen, unminimizing something, etc.

What does it look like? Your probably getting screen tearing because the fps is higher than the refresh rate.

I can barely move, like I said, it looks like I am playing on 10> FPS. I even turned vsync, but the problem isn't just in-game, everything is laggy.

Edit - After some googling it seems that disabling Aero fixes it, but I would really really prefer not to use windows 95 look.. anyone have any ideas? Nevermind, fixed it altogether by turning off scaling in my gpu settings menu.

i have a 120hz (been using it for at least 2yrs) never had any issues. i use dual dvi also. try other games, see how it goes.

also, about the hdmi with regards to the sound, i would really really suggest getting a decent set of speakers, way way better than the speaker in the monitor
