Hi

I am using a Dell Inspiron 3521 Laptop. I want to upgrade my RAM from 4 GB to 8 GB.
I call the dell tech support to check the specifications of my current RAM .They told me its DDR3L1600MZ RAM
However when i ran CPUID on my laptop i found the output contained line: Max bandwidth PC3-12800 (800 MHz).
Now I am confused my RAM is 800 MHZ or 1600 MHZ.
Can someone help ??

Your RAM is DDR3-1600. CPU-Z shows you the bus frequency, which is 800MHz, and the 1600 is the effective frequency. Since RAM is DDR (double data rate) the effective frequency is doubled so 800MHz is DDR3-1600.
