i5 3570k bottlenecking GTX 670 sli

I have been playing BF4 multiplayer lately and have noticed that my fps drops down to 30 at points, this perplexed me(cause my specs should be able to play it flawlessly) so I began to watch my cpu and gpu usage, it would seem my gtx 670's reach about a max of 60-70% usage and my cpu is at 100% usage.

I do not know why this is, but it's frustrating and worrisome.

note: I have my cpu overclocked to 4.2 ghz and have a max temp of about 92... the performance drops when I downclock, so I don't think that temperature or overclock has anything to do with it.

"have my cpu overclocked to 4.2 ghz and have a max temp of about 92" - no wonder its at 100% usage.

Clean your case out. bump up the cpu fan rpm. get rid of the cpu overclock. I hope it's not on a stock cpu cooler.

If its still not less than 40C idle and 55C gaming then re-seat your cooler.

If still not OK, get a better cpu cooler eg CM hyper 212 evo.

My [albeit overclocked] i5-750 does not have trouble keeping BF4 multiplayer at 50-60 FPS the vast majority of the time.

92°C (in a game, no less!) is way, way too hot. Your processor is definitely throttling at that temperature. If reducing your clock frequency doesn't help then its still hot enough to throttle. What is going on with your cooler and airflow?

So, I kinda forgot that I made this thread XD sorry about that.

I would prefer to keep my 3570k due to the fact I plan on upgrading everything(motherboard, cpu, ram) when ddr4 ram is released so I would prefer to deal with this.

I have the hyper 212, i'll turn off my overclock and test it then, but If my memory serves me correctly it does not help my performance but instead lowers it...

Measure cpu temps with the UEFI that came with your mobo. Other software is not reliable.

It should run at 40C max at idle and 55C max while gaming and 70C max stress testing (Prime 95).

Clean out your cpu cooler and re-seat it. if still no good, get a better cooler.
