My computer boots fine into safe mode, but when i try to boot normally computer gives me BSOD and restarts automatically, the nvidia drivers or my GTX 460 are causing the problems.

It boots fine normally when i select standard VGA driver in device manager for my GTX 460

Things i have tried which did not help:
I have installed and tried many different versions of drivers such as 314.22 after uninstalling with display driver uninstaller.
Installed a clean copy of Windows 7 SP1.
Tried installing only the drivers without physx, audio etc. for nvidia GTX 460.
Swapped my GTX 460 into PCIE x8 slot

I will be able to provide any other information if needed

Well, this minidump points to nvidia driver crash - nvlddmkm.sys

So,

Download and install Driver Sweeper

Download the most recent software\driver for your NVIDIA

Uninstall nvidia software\driver,restart in safe mode, run driver sweeper, choose only NVIDIA-Display and clean, restart in normal mode.

Install the new nvidia software\driver,restart.

Update DirectX

Run the nvidia-video-card-test post here the results.

Run RAM - Test with Memtest86+

After using display driver uninstaller in safe mode, and when i restart into normal mode and install any driver and restart again the computer BSOD. whatever driver i try system will BSOD. so i can boot into normal mode only when i select standard VGA driver.

Will run the memtest and post the results in some time

i dont feel like upgrading, and having my fingers crossed that it does not break again.. atleast until i finish GTA 5 :p

Btw, i was searching to replace the card and i cant find anything good... i mean i bought this card for 14k INR and now to get an equivalent card i have to shell out the same amount of money which i did 4 years back

i mean i thought atleast a GTX 750 (10.5k INR) would beat my old GTX 460 but no: half of the specs my 460 holds upper hand.

so it had me thinking even after 5 years no card can match the specs of 460 so why upgrade my GPU spending that much money?
