Hi all, first time posting here. I recently tried my hand at building a computer from scratch these Uni holidays, and have run into some graphics problems in the last week.

I first noticed it whilst playing league, where the FPS would drop from the previously stable 60 FPS to 50 then 30 then back to 50 then 60 etc. affecting the enjoyment of the game greatly. I tried CC Cleaner, uninstalling the driver and re-installing, and even changing the graphics card to the PCI-E 2 slot (which fixed it for like a day).

My specs are:

Intel i5 4690k 3.5 ghz
Asrock Fatal1ty B85-Killer Mobo------> Plan to change it to a Asus Sabertooth Z97 Mark 2
Sapphire R9 270X 4GB OC
Corsair Dominator 16 GB Dual Channel Ram
Antec Earthwatts 500 watt PSU-----> Changing it tomorrow to a FSP Aurum 750M

Thanks for your time guys!

First thing to check, monitor the CPU and GPU temperatures while gaming.

Looks fine to me, 34amps on the 12v rail.

As soon as i go home I will. Should I be putting my PSU fan down so it draws air from the ground and not from the case?

Yes if your case has a dust filter at the bottom for the psu to draw air in, but this shouldnt have a significant impact on temps, usually its one of the following:

Poorly mounted CPU cooler
Poor thermal paste application on CPU
Poor airflow in case

I fixed all the issues you raised, I.e.re applied thermal paste, worked on some cable management and put another exhaust fan in so there are two fans bringing air in and two exhaust fans now. Seems to have fixed the issue . Thanks! Also temps are running fine :D
