Does anyone on here know where I can get a cheap retail version of Windows 7?

If I get it cheap I can put some more money to a good video card.

Reddit software swap. My buddy got windows 8 for like 8 or 9 bucks w PayPal. It works but I can't speak to the legitimacy of these keys though. They do activate fine for the most part.

98% chance that you can't get a legit version cheap. Any version of Win7 pro under $100 is either an amazing stroke of luck (the other 2%) or stolen, forged, illicitly transferred, cracked, filled with malware, or all of the above.

If you find it significantly cheaper than the major resellers (Amazon/Newegg/TigerDirect/etc) it is either on sale from one of those, or almost certainly not legit.

From some dude on reddit? Not a chance.

Yes I was wondering how these sellers get the keys. All I know is they work and activate 'genuinely' . I personally suspected cracks involved. The sellers claim to work through or for MS and claim to buy in bulk. Hmm..

I got my OEM from microcenter for 90$. There tend to be two kinds of people when it comes to buying an OS.

Also, what activates today may deactivate next week, once that hijacked corporate key goes away.

Windows costs what it costs. And an OS is just as much a part of the PC as is RAM/GPU/CPU/etc.
If you saw someone selling 'new', 'legit' 8GB RAM sticks for $10 each, you'd immediately be suspect. Same with Windows.
