The gigabyte ga 970a ud3p is the best 970 chipset mobo out there. It beats both of these motherboards and the best part is that all three cost almost the same. If not that get atleast an asus m5a97 r2.0 mobo.

I wanted to know which one is better between this two mobos. MSI announced its 970 series mobos recently and it's promised to pack a punch.

The ASRock 970 Extreme 4:-

- FSB 2400 MHz
- Realtek RTL8111E (10/100/1000 Mbps, Supports Wake-On-LAN, Supports PXE, Supports Energy Efficient Ethernet 802.3az, LAN Cable Detection)

MSI 970 Gaming Motherboard:-

- Dual Channel Memory
- AMD SB950 Chipset
- ATX Form Factor
- AM3+ Socket Type
- AMD 970 Chipset
- 4 Memory Slots
- Maximum 32 GB DDR3
- Killer E2205 Gigabit LAN controller (10/100/1000)

Well between those two, I personally would go for the Asrock. Msi's VRM cooling cannot be trusted on the 970 chipset.

Okay, thank you for fast replying bro. So the best 970 mobos currently in the market are ASUS M5A97 EVO R2.0, Gigabyte GA 970A UD3P and ASRock 970 Extreme4? Oh and how do you expand to 64 GB RAM if you have 4 memory slots on your mobo?

If your mobo supports 64 gb then you have to get 4 16 gb sticks. These you will find only as server parts. And they are ECC sticks. So they tend to perform badly on day to day tasks when compared to non ecc ram. Out of curiosity, might I ask why you need 64 gb of ram? Anyways here is one 16 gb stick: http://www.amazon.com/Kingston-ValueRAM-PC3-10666-KVR13...
That I wouldn't recommend if you are gaming or having an enthusiast pc. Otherwise if you are buying a server then buy these ecc sticks. Though why you would choose the am3+ chipset for a server beats me. For non ecc sticks, uptil now I have only seen 8 gb sticks.
And if you are satisfied by my answer, do not forget to choose best solution.:)

Having googled that one i actually like it and rate it higher than the asrock. It's right up there with this one "gigabyte ga 970a ud3p" and "ASUS M5A97 EVO R2.0".I think i would choose that one.A good audiochip too.
