how to stream movies from my laptop to my TV. What do I need?

Solution
All you need to do is buy an HDMI cable in the store, connect that from your laptop to your TV, and tada! Whatever is on your laptop screen appears on your TV. In Windows you have the options to duplicate or extend your two screens (the laptop and TV). You'll want duplicate, so if it isn't by default hit Windows-Key-P to change the setting.
No need for the Blu-Ray player even.
