So I have a gigabyte GA-Z97x-UD5h mobo. When my computer crashed and refused to turn on I had to use the bios switch. This seemed to solve the problem however whenever I switch back to bios 1 via switch I get an error code of 5b which according to my instruction mauel means "reset PPI failed" (memory issue). I already used the CMOS switch on my computer hopeing to reset both bios however this only reset bios 2, bios 1 is still useless. Please help!

You should have an option to clear the bios. This might be a switch or a jumper. Check your motherboard.
Normally, if you get a failure on the main bios, the backup is used to copy the factory settings to the failed bios.
Sometimes the failed bios is in such a state that such a copy can not be done. Clearing the cmos might fix it.
If that does not work, remove the cr2032 battery for a minute to drain the settings and try again.

I did attempt to clear the CMOS, however only the backup bios was cleared not the main one. I dont know what to do.

So I did some updating on my backup bios and everything has reached stability. My first bios is still useless though, whenever it boots I see that it is attempting to enter bios but it never does. The most I have seen is a small flashing underscore for a few seconds and then blank and restart. Also when I check event viewer (on my second Bios) I see nothing about my failed boot. nothing Should I be concerned? My second bios is running amazing.
