I already purchased this board and was about to order an i7 4790k. But on the website for the board it says I need the f6 bios to use that cpu. I have no idea what bios is on the board, and I do not have access to another Haswell cpu to boot up with if the 4790k won't work with whatever bios the board ships with.

Is there a way to tell which Bios is on my board so I know if I can order the 4790k? Or is is there anyone who has used this motherboard for the 4790k or the i5 4690k?

You don't need a Haswell chip to update the BIOS - any Core i7 / i5 / i3 / Pentium / Celeron (LGA1150) will work. Ideally you can just borrow one from somebody. Alternatively, you can buy the cheapest one you can find. Just install the donor chip (with cooler), boot to BIOS, then flash the BIOS to the appropriate version. F8 is the lastest one showing on the mobo support page. Once the flash is complete, uninstall the donor, install your new DC chip and go from there.

Well, Tha'ts the problem, I don't really have access to any lga1150 chips. My only option is to actually purchase a cheap lga 1150 cpu to use as a boot up chip to flash the bios so I can then install the i7 4790k. The fact I have to buy 2 cpus is kind of retarded though.

Thanks for this, on the Gigabyte site it said I need the f6 bios. This is good news. I am still a little worried, but I will go ahead an order it. Thanks.
