I'm currently looking to get a 2nd monitor for my computer, but I've never had 2 at once. My current primary is http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

I'm considering using that as my secondary since I'm getting these weird lines across my screen when I'm in game. They are only really noticeable when displaying bright or dark backgrounds, and it only happens in game (GW2). Not sure if its the monitor or my power socket and I pray its not something with my 770 gtx, but if anything I'll be able to troubleshoot it better once I have a 2nd monitory. if anyone has any info on that I'd love to fix this as its a mild annoyance to my eyes.

As for the main topic at hand, I'm wondering what are some reliable monitors, and for a secondary monitor should I go with a smaller resolution? Or should I put my current monitor to the side and get a new primary? Any direct links and info is appreciated!

Ideally you want multiple of the same monitor, that way everything lines up, theirs no DPI difference, Bezels are consistent, etc. If you ever throw a 3rd monitor at it and go for a Surround setup, it definitely makes a difference having three of the same screen.

So you recommend just buying the same monitor? Is the monitory I have pretty solid? Is this lines issue something I can troubleshoot?

Yup, I wouldnt call it a bad monitor by any stretch.
As for the lines, I have feeling its a problem with the backlight of the monitor, which you cant really do anything about. Most I can say is call up ASUS, see what they say and if its possible to get an RMA if its still under warranty. Worst case scenario though, just use it as the secondary monitor where the issue wont be as noticeable.
