Ive gotten some server ram by accident that I am wondering if it will fit my a614n hp pavillion. Hp says only 2gb max but I am wondering what will hapen if I use 2x2gb corsair pc2100 stickes in it will I see smoke or overclock damage or harddrive crash. They fit nicely in the slots there 184 pin ddr1 2.66mhz

According to HP max RAM is 1GB (2x512GB). Even if those 2GB sticks fit in the slots the system won't even post with unsupported RAM installed.

There is another site where they sell 2gb kits 2x512x2 For this machine now. The ones I got are 4gb kit 2x4x512 their ddrsdram that I need for the 2004 machine. There looking suportable except for Hp recomendation they dont recognize even the 1 gb per slot kits. Your giving me the confidence I need though to plug one or 2 in with the no damages concept thank you.
