Hello all,

To prelude, I've used this site prior to building my custom computer to get more/better information on different items I eventually bought which turned out to be very helpful - so thank you to the people who provide valid, in-depth information on a range of electronics, etc.

My Problem:
When I bought the parts to building a pc, the Avermedia Live Gamer HD (PCI Express) was one of the items I really wanted. I use my pc to stream online from a gaming console (ps3) among other small, miscellaneous tasks. Since I started using my computer, about 6 months now, I haven't had any real luck with getting the Live Gamer HD to work properly. And now more than ever, it is really shitting the bed.

When I first turn on my computer and launch Recentral, it normally would open up fine and be able to find my ps3 relatively quick. Once that is up, I start up OBS to stream with and capture my Recentral within the OBS program. Now I understand I cannot have both Recentral and OBS running at the same time, so before I even open up OBS, I close out of my Recentral and then open to OBS. When I go to add a source in OBS, Avermedia LGHD is shown but only shows a black screen. I then close out of OBS completely, launch Recentral, and receive a message that says "Device is Occupied." As to what device this is, I don't know, but I cannot figure out how to get beyond this point. Recently, I have been opening Recentral and receiving that notice right away - it won't even bring up my game console. I then go into Device Manager and check to see that my Avermedia is running correctly, and of course, it says it is. I have called Avermedia multiple times to ask for advice and they say to unplug a webcam or delete Skype - both of which I do not have. Also, I called MSI to find out if I needed to install any software to allow my motherboard to accept the Live Gamer. I downloaded everything possible that MSI suggested I download and it still didn't fix the problem.

I run my ps3 through a HDMI splitter to alleviate the HDCP code so I can correctly stream so to speak. Even without the HDMI splitter, the Avermedia software still does not even let me launch and capture my game console.

I really want to utilize this hardware but cannot figure out how to keep it from blacking out on me and eventually not working at all.

I am wondering since my pc is custom built, is there something else that I need to have installed or something similar to that to help the Avermedia hardware run correctly? Any and all answers/suggestions are very very much appreciated.

Thanks
