Hello,
I am choosing between two GPUs, The EVGA GTX 750 1 GB 128-bit GDDR5 FTW with ACX cooling (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...) or the EVGA Superclocked GTX 750 Ti 2 GB GDDR5 128-bit (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...). I will mainly be playing Minecraft and Watch_Dogs and a few FPS games. The only difference between the two cards are:
The price: the 750 is 5$ cheaper than the 750 Ti
The VRAM: the 750 Ti has 1 GB more
Core clock: the 750 has a bit higher clock
CUDA cores: the 750 Ti has 640 while the 750 only has 512
Effective memory clock: the 750 Ti has a higher clock
And the cooling: the 750 has ACX cooling while the Ti version has reference.
I WILL be overclocking the cards, so the frequency isn't really a factor to consider
I won't be running dual or triple monitors, BTW.
Is the 750 Ti worth the 1 GB more VRAM, the more CUDA cores at the expense of having a reference cooler?
And no, i can't get the 750 Ti FTW w/ACX because it's out of my GPU price range.
Thanks in advance.

Get the GTX 750 TI, the 2GB is a MUST for watch dogs and other demanding games, 1GB isn't going to cut it.Why not? I only have one display at less than 1080p...
what is your res? 1050P?
Still, get the 750 ti, it has a lot more cuda cores which make it faster than the fast clocked gtx 750.
And that 2GB will still be handy, because if you want to run the game with a lot of MSAA then that 2GB is still needed.

1280x1024, and I'm running it off a Pentium 4 521...
MSAA is a type of anti-aliasing, right? If I don't use that, would it be OK?

Oh boy, sorry bud but a Pentium 4 will give you an absolutely horrible gaming experience, games won't run on it.
My advice, go on the web and research what you really need to play those games, then come back to the forums.
Yes MSAA is anti aliasing.
A Pentium 4 can't even run windows 8, that should give you an idea.

The case comes from Amazon, PCPP just doesn't have that price in its databases.
I hope that you won't mind recommending me a decent PSU for ~50$

In that case i would buy the 750ti if I were you. You get more power. Also for a psu you would do well with this unit http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
Also this 500 watt will give you a little bit of upgrade room if you ever decide to.

Curious do you plan to get a i5 in the future to overclock? You picked a z97 board for that pentium. If you don't you could pick something cheaper and get 8gbs of ram.

Yes, I plan to OC every one of the CPUs I can get my hands on, so I'll OC the Pentium and my goal for 2015 or 2016 is to upgrade to a Core i5-4690K or maybe a K Broadwell CPU.

That PSU is made by HEC
Would the EVGA Supernova 750 B2 work and is it reliable?

Here you go man http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...Thanks, but it'll only fit my needs for a year, two or three at max. I really don't think it'll handle SLI (unless if it's Maxwell cards) and I already picked out the EVGA SuperNOVA 750 B2 with help from the TH community.
For the GPU, I'll be going with the 750 Ti. Thank you to everyone who answered!
Edit: It was the Seasonic unit that will only fit my needs for a year

Although I just MIGHT consider the Triathlor. I'm checking reviews on it.

It still can't
780 requires at least 42 amps on each rail...
