Asus Z87-A reboot problem

Hy ,
I have this new Asus Z87-A , I had some problems at the beginning after setup it in case to turn it on . Finally after searching for the troubleshooting on-line i have found out that the problem was the processor not in the right place ( :? for me at the beginning looks fine , had to pull it off and mount it back again) . The problem that i have and didn't find a answer is : The computer works fine when i switch it on and off but when i try to restart even from windows or button he takes the command but wont boot , i need to switch it off and back on to make it work ..i did notice that the red light on the mb stays on at the restart instead at the turn off/on blinks once and thats it ... any1 have a solution for this ?

Some possibilities that jump out at me - the CPU might have been damaged during your initial installation, there might be an issue with your CMOS/BIOS/drivers, or your PSU or mobo may have a fault.

I'm on a tablet now and will post further once I have access to my desktop, but first thing I would recommend is updating your BIOS and drivers. More to follow.

It may be a motherboard issue. If you seated your cpu the wrong way the first time, then I would get a replacement. It may have damage your processor. Although, when I come to think about it, it may not be the case at all.

Another thing you can do is make sure your PSU has enough wattage power. IF all else doesnt work,make sure your connections in your computer are all connected properly.

Okay, sorry for the delay. Here's a link to a list of trouble shooting steps you should go through - pay special attention to step #11, as I think there's a good chance that you've got some pin damage. You'll want some replacement thermal paste, isopropyl alcohol (99% by preference), q-tips, and coffee filters on hand when you do the steps with the CPU. When you pull the CPU cooler off, use the alcohol, swabs and filters to clean the old past off the bottom of the cooler and off the CPU lid. If everything checks out with the CPU, once it's reinstalled, apply new thermal paste before remounting the cooler. You can get thermal paste at your local computer store or order online from Amazon, Newegg, etc.
