so recently i just finished building my first gaming pc and now, im just not satisfied enough. I believe that i can build more and i want to so i can reach max performance. so i want to ask over the next couple of years what parts should i save up for to make a new build. should i just upgrade my recent build and forget about it? i would really like to know because i dont want to strive for good or great, i want to strive for the best.

CPU ofcourse and GPU and motherboard, but slightly less
Also DDR4 RAM is coming up so get that and than leave that be.
For the rest, maybe SSD if larger, less expensive disks come out.

So you want to take your new build and throw it down the drain? Why not just upgrade stuff every once in a while. Even if you don't have the best graphics for gaming, gameplay is more important. I'm sure you played on an N64 back in the day.

What is your gpu anyways? You could always try a little higher overclock on your CPU if you want.

my GPU is a sapphire r9 270x. what i am deciding is either save up enough for a stronger psu and GPU or to get a new MOBO and CPU

I'd go with the stronger PSU/GPU combo, in newer AAA games the performance difference between the fx 83xx and i5 isn't overwhelmingly intel favored.
