Hey all,
I formatted my computer the other day and i can't get any audio from it, I have formatted my computers plenty of times in the past, and never had this problem. I installed the most up to date audio driver and have troubleshooted the audio play back but nothing works.

My computer doesn't recognize a problem, according to my computer the audio is fine... but nothing comes out of the speakers.

I have tried the front and rear audio jacks but neither of them work.

What i found strange is that i plugged a HDMI lead from my computer to my TV and i can get audio from my TV, surely my computer is producing that audio?

This image shows an audio test in progress

Any help is much appreciated,

Open Device Manager, click Start, and then click Control Panel. Double-click System. On the Hardware tab, click Device Manager.

See if there's a warning triangle next to your sound driver. If that's the case, try rolling back/updating the driver (right click). If that fails or you don't have one to roll back - look on the manufacturer's site for the correct, updated, drivers for your OS/sound card,

Usually the audio driver i have on the disc I got with my Motherboard works fine, but for some reason after this format.... nothing. I'm starting to think that my only solution is to buy a sound card?

But the front and rear audio ports at the same time? How is that possible? And they still recognize an audio jack has been plugged in, so they must work. Its a mystery, and an impossibility lol.

Thanks for trying to help, an audio card should resolve the problem?

I'll do exactly that, as soon as the shop opens tomorrow, hopefully he can give a better insight into what's causing the problem. Just seems so strange to me, can't understand it at all.
