Hello again,

If you get that WD Black (or any other drive) and/or use it in an enclosure with an eSATA you shouldn't have those low speeds. eSATA is much faster than USB 3.0 and would perform much better when loading games. :)

Hey there zachparr2442,

Quite a big game collection you have there! Have in mind that if you would like to play your games from an external drive such as the ones you have, you might have longer load times and some freeze times due to the slower speed of the USB cable compared to the SATA ports that you have inside your laptop.
If you just want to store your games I would just use the external drives that you already have. Just run them through a program to make sure they are OK, with no bad sectors and your data is secure there. A good tool for that is WD Data Lifeguard Diagnostic.
Another option is to change one of the drives that you already have in your laptop. If I were you, I would keep the SSD for my OS and check out WD Black2 or the 1TB WD Blue. The Black2 specifically is a great drive as you would have another 120GB SSD for your heavier games and still a 1TB HDD for the rest of your collection while running my OS from the other SSD.
Here are a couple of links:
WD Data Lifeguard Diagnostic: http://support.wdc.com/product/download.asp?groupid=810&lang=en
WD Blue: http://www.wdc.com/en/products/products.aspx?id=800
WD Black2: http://www.wdc.com/en/products/products.aspx?id=1190

Hope this helps,

what i could do instead of buying another 2.5hdd i can get a enclosed case for my 3.5 1tb WD black and put my games on there and use the esata slot instead. so somthing like this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817182247&cm_re=hdd_enclosure-_-17-182-247-_-Product or this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=0VN-0003-00003&cm_re=hdd_enclosure-_-0VN-0003-00003-_-Product would work for what i need and also i had a problem with this before with steam can i have games on two different hard drives. like half on one and half on the other

As long as the enclosures are compatible with the drive you would like to put in, you should not have any problems using it as storage for your games and should not experience problems with loading or freezing.
if you want to record your games on different drives, I would say you need to build some sort of a RAID (0 or JBOD SPAN) and spread your installs across multiple drives. Although it is probably possible, it is not recommended since you would be using different drives in different enclosures with probably different cables (and thus slightly different speeds) which can cause problems.
If you would like to have a RAID, I would change my drives in the laptop and put to identical (same size, same manufacturer, same series) or get an external enclosure that supports multiple drives and RAID and again put identical drives to avoid any compatibility issues.
Here's an interesting thread on RAID types, if you are interested: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/259807-32-raid
