Hey guys

I come here seeking help because I am all out of ideas on this one.
I recently bought a Sapphire R9 270x 2GB Vapor-x with OC BOOST, and my screens won't show any image. My PC does start up, but afterwards I cannot shut it down without breaking the power.

My full rig is:
ASRock 970 extreme3 R2.0
AMD FX-6300 Black Edition
Corsair VS550W
2x 8GB Crucial 1333Mhz RAM 2x4GB kit (Yes I got very lucky and got them working synchronously)
1.5TB HDD + 128GB SSD
Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit

What I've tried so far:
Update BIOS to latest version
Reinstall OS
Switch out RAM
Other PCI-E lane

Since I have no onboard graphics and my PSU should be just about good enough (est. use 512W), I am completely out of ideas.
One more thing to note is that this is the second GPU this is happening with, the previous one being a Sapphire R7 260x, having the same problems. I returned this one and got a refund as it got filed as a DOA card by the seller. My PC does run with my old trusty Club3D Radeon HD 6570.

Oh based IT Gods, please helps me on this one because I am really out of ideas.
Thanks in advance.

seeing you old card works fine and the new card requires a 6-pin pci-e from the psu it may just be the psu cant power the card properly

the r9 270x requires 24amp @ 12+ volt rail and a 500 watt psu so what psu are you using ???

then it should be enough ......there may be a chance that the psu is not able to handle the load and its faulty but at idle the r9 270 uses very less power so it should be a problem if it was at load and shutting down then there is a chance of faulty psu....so i think either the card is faulty or the motherboard has something to do .......can u check the card in a different pc to make sure its working ??

yea i know the vs series from crosair is not ment for gaming its for home office use and not good for oc but at idle the pc should not have any problem unless the psu is faulty ....

Hey guys, thanks for the answers already.

The PSU *should* be just enough as I looked over a bunch of compatibility threads before buying it. I have been thinking it could be faulty PSU 6pin connectors/wire.
Sadly I don't have a different PC or Mobo I can test it on since everyone I know has either a laptop or all-in PC.
I just don't want to jump to conclusions and get a load of unneccesary costs building up.

okk in that case the best think u can do is to take the pc to a technician nd he will sort out the problem for u ......its hard to tell without testing....

that's real bad luck you get 2 new cards that did not work, and they both require the pci-e from the psu .. this would be why I would look at the psu hard .. you know the pci-e slot is good seeing its running the hd 6570 just fine ..[opinion]
