Computer Specs:

CPU: AMD FX-4300 Quad-Core Processor 3.8GHz (not overclocked)

RAM: Corsair Vengeance 8gb 4x2

Motherboard: M5 A97 LE R2.0

Liquid Cooling System: Corsair H60 hydro cooling

GPU: Sapphire Radeon R9 200 series 2GB

Hard Drive: WDC WD10EZEX-21M2NA0 (1TB)

Okay so here we go. Last couple of months I've been having a problem with my computer. It will just shut off randomly, without any warning what-so-ever. Not even under a lot of stress, simple chrome browsing (mainly twitch.tv) and skype. If I open up and play a game such as league/borderlands 2 they will run for maybe 5-10 minutes before the computer shuts off completely without warning. I have two fans blowing out through the side and top of my tower as well as a liquid cooling unit on my processor. (corsair h60). Temps reach up to 85C when the unit shuts off with around 60% CPU usage. Right now as I type this my CPU is sitting at 10.1C but if I were to open twitch.tv it would jump instantly to 40~C. I don't understand what could possibly be the problem. I believe that I have good circulation however I could be wrong. What I need to know is, Why is my processor getting so hot when I run anything and how do I fix it!?

Try replacing your thermal paste on the H60 and make sure it's getting power.

I forgot to mention I just re-applied Artic Silver to the CPU yesterday. As well as moved the liquid cooling mount from the fan being on the inside of the case with the radiator facing the outside wall to the radiator being on the inside with the fan on the outside wall. This did make a rather large change in temps however I still managed to overheat the system while simply running twitch.tv, skype, and a runescape client at the same time. I do have 2 monitors as well, and I do not know how that effects the CPU's stress.

It has to be either a faulty H60, or improper installation. If you're sure you installed it correctly and applied the thermal paste correctly, the H60 is faulty.

How would I be able to make sure the product is faulty? I have never ever used the stock heat sink that comes with the CPU, would it be wise to switch out the two and see if the stock cooler beats the liquid cooler? I have plenty of arctic silver left over to apply

Turn all your fans off and see if you can hear the pump on the H60. If it keeps causing you problems, get something else. Another H60 or an EVO212.
