Thanks for the great information.

I do have a couple of questions.

First is with the msi z71 gamming mb. It seems to have a nic on it. These are not new to me, but never have used one. A couple of review say the software is not so good. Could some please tell me if this is good or not.

 
I've been building computers for years and I've learned to avoid MSI motherboards. I've had bad experiences with them in the past that I would rather not go through again. I understand their new boards are supposed to be better, but I recommend going with the most trusted motherboard manufactures. I've had great luck with both Asus and Gigabyte motherboards.
