Graphic artifacts in Skyrim

So I RMA'ed my Radeon HD 7990 recently and I finally have been getting the fps I'm supposed to get. But now on Skyrim, I've been having some problems with flickering text, water, and artifacts. The text and water problems were fixed by playing around with the settings and changing the Crossfire mode to optimize 1x1.

So I was wondering. Are these artifacts known bugs for skyrim? Or do I have to RMA the card again. (BTW, I am not having these problems with 3dMark 11, sleeping dogs, and Fallout 3)

You sure this has nothing to do with my gpu? Since I thought getting artifacts means you have a faulty card

If you are not getting these artifacts in any other games what makes you think that it is the graphics card?

Skyrim is known for poor crossfire performance and weird artifacts.

Come to think of it, I did get black lines around my character in sleeping dogs, but that was a one time deal and I am not getting it anymore

Your card is fine as it works well with other games. Also, make sure you got your drivers up-to-date. Because lot of people playing skyrim with AMD card had graphic issues until they had their graphic card drivers updated. I'm using 14.7. Hope you are using the same.

Well I'm using 14.4 as I like to just download the non-beta drivers, besides, they don't mention any skyrim fixes in the release notes of 14.7, but I will update nonetheless

I'm pretty much sure the problem is on skyrim. I know they didn't mention anything about skyrim graphic issue fix. Just give out a shot by having the latest beta. And if the problem doesn't fade away even after update, switch off the crossfire.

Turning off crossfire doesn't do anything, artifacts are still there

Oh God. I'm sorry to hear that, buddy. Update the drivers 14.7.

If that didn't help, then check twice on other games if these artifacts appear over them. If not, Skyrim's issue. If yes, make sure you've inserted the card firmly into the slot and flash your BIOS (if outdated).

skyrim isn't going to show artifacts before other much more demanding games will. run unigine valley or something like that to look for artifacts. if you have modded skryim its very possible the mods dont like each other.

from your pictures i cannot see what you mean by artifacts, unless you mean the white/blue sparkle on the rocks, but some caves have that as part of the game. when skyrim is artifacting, you will see strange polygons like big triangles spreading out all over the place.

Oh sorry for my ignorance, I just watched a walkthrough and turns out it you're right, they're just sparkles. Thank you all for your help, and I will run unigine valley just in case.

If you are using enb, you should download enb particle patch. I had same problem before, especially in dwemer and falmer ruins.
And about crossfire, as far I know skyrim isn't very well optimized for it.

im not a fan of all these game changing enb's. i just use boris's original enb over at enbdev.com for its memory management, a few dx10 effects, and its much better AA and AF modes... though i does out the box ever so slightly change the game. all the other enb's are just an modding his ini file to get the different color modes, dof, etc that you see.
