Ok so let me start by saying that today my computer has decided to restart while playing any game. It last like 3 minutes before restarting BF4 and does so in other games to. It was fine 2 days ok then all of a sudden its just bad.

So I read around and downloaded some programs to test.

Components

GPU-sapphire r9 290x - ran fine-temps were fine -furmark stress test

CPU- intel i7 - 960 - had temps at around 87C after 4 minutes on the blend test so i stopped the test. Besides that it seemed to be doing fine. prime95

heres the kicker.

PSU- 1000w - As soon as I hit the button go the computer restarted 3 secs in. So Does this mean my psu is bad?

Solution
Do a stress test that will stress both cpu and gpu as this will determine whether your psu is faulty. Have you overclocked at all, as this could also be the problem.

If none of this works RMA the cooler, if that still hasn't worked it must be the psu.

The PSU is a Corsair and the CPU should be getting perfectly good air flow I have one fan on top one fan on the side and its water cooled. So I'm guessing the water cooling may not be functioning properly but I am not a genius when it comes to computers. I reran BF4 while watching the temp and it didnt get any higher then 70C before the computer restarted 2 minutes into playing.

I also ran the official intel processor diagnostic tool and again my CPU was at 86 before I stopped the test. Now the temps dont get that hot when I play. So Im thinking it is the PSU. I think cause it did fail its test.

Ok so I perfomed a benchmark test using furmark with my own settins of anti-aliasing to 8x and 1080p and after about haveway through the computer crashed? I did this while monitoring the PSU levels.

heres what I could remember
+12 was at 11.8 during test in idle it is 11.43

I also Have just noticed that OCCT is telling me my CPU is overclocked to 4.4% could this be a problem.

I just hope to solve this soon as I also do alot of design with my computer so I need it operational and would prefer not to have to go pay someone to figure it out.
Thank you for all your help

the CPU Vcore in idle goes from .97V to 1.25V is the one you were looking for. Do you have any suggestions on some new PSU's as it is now out of warrenty I bought the original system in 2011 oct.
