Hi guys

Just got my new build finished. Fired it up all working great but noticed that the mobo is only detecting 8gb ram rather than the installed 16gb (x2 8gb sticks). It's Kingston Hyper Beast DDR3 2400mhz. I also noticed that the mobo was detecting it as 1333mhz speed.

Tried just using a single 8gb stick and one of the sticks refuses to work in any slot. With the problem stick the machine starts but doesn't post. The other stick works fine.

Never had faulty ram before, can't think of anything else to try as I don't have another machine or more ram.

Am I safe to assume one of the sticks is faulty? Anything else I could try?

Cheers guys

Yeah. One of the sticks works fine the other just won't work at all. Just ordered a new kit from amazon, corsair this time, I'll send the other back.
