Had some great help earlier this week, I have the I7-2700k processor which I got new really cheap, but I sat on it for what to appears to be too long. I want the best MOBO I can buy, and a friend is building it for me who suggested this,

ASUS Maximus IV extereme - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005584ZEO/ref=pd_lpo_sbs_dp_ss_2?pf_rd_p=1535523722&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B004OT7XLM&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=1MZ198J501J69MEM7S72

However there is the version "V" extreme, which im told is better (but hard to find new)

I'm going to SLI two high end GPU's possibly 780, and do 16Gb memory. Would there be a better option than these boards, I could gamble and get used I suppose? I've got some work to do in the knowledge dept.

Thanks again.

That maximus board is priced $100 over what it should be... money better spent elsewhere IMO and not even that good a board to begin with. LoL

You could also try the P8Z77-v though with your processor the two pcie slots will only run in pcie2 mode.
