I have been having some weird problems with my computer. Earlier today I re applied some thermal paste to my CPU as it was getting to hot. Before this, my computer was running fine and when I start it up to see if my fresh thermal paste had worked I found that nothing would appear on screen. It just said no signal on the screen. I thought it may have been the ram but the onboard gpu works. After restarting to go to the bios I found it stopped working. And then it worked again later.

So the on board works sometimes and the main gpu never works if that makes sense. I am panicking at the moment as I have no idea what to do. No forum has had the answers so far, and this is why I am now asking for help.

Thanks

Ben

Did you set your gpu to the main video output?

It isn't detected by the bios
It is as though it wasn't plugged in

Resit your gpu and try a different PCI-E lane.

Tried that already. The on board gpu isn't working now. Does this sound like it is the mobo

Possibly, but you can try this;

-Reset your BIOS
-Disable IGP
-Uninstall old drivers
-Download the latest drivers (For the moterboard, gpu and so on...)

It could definitely be the motherboard. What motherboard do you have?

I have an asus mobo. I reset the bios as we'll by taking out the CMOS battery and putting it back in. And I cannot disable this igp as neither gpus work.

If it is the mother board what could have caused it to brake.
When I was working on it I used an anti static wrist strap.
