How do you think this would play on Battlefield 4 at 900p? I have a GTX 750 SC right now and I have to play on all low to stay above 60 frames, I have my monitor set at 80hz. Also does AMD have anything like shadowplay?

Corsair GS700
8gb 1600 (Cheapo Ram)

By 900p I presume you mean 1600x900 resolution, 60 Hz. If so, how did you get it to accept 80Hz? What monitor is it?

Yes, the HD 7950 will be a major improvement over the GTX 750.

Went in to the nvidia contol panel and created a custom 1600x900 setting at 80hz, test and was successful. I can get 85hz at 1366x768. Its an HP2009m monitor. What settings do think I will be able at btw?

Same can be done with AMD in its control panel as well.

If you select 'hide modes that this monitor cannot display'. Is 75 still listed? The monitor is a 60Hz display. Forcing it above that will of course void your warranty if that matters and shorten the life of the monitor.

I got the monitor in the beginning of 2009, it came with an HP bundle I got for like $250, so the warranty is gone I'd imagine. The extra hz does make the gameplay smoother. Besides, if it does go out on me, I will invest in a 120 hz monitor. Did you know if AMD has a "shadowplay"? As far as the listed hz variants for the monitor, I do not know if 75 is still listed. I just stumbled upon the custom res thing a few weeks ago.

I haven't seen anything like Shadowplay in AMD's driver package. But Shadowplay has been know to cause problems with some systems if the posts here are to be believed.

Shadowplay works like a dream on mine. I am now looking at some Nvidia cards now just for the reason they have shadow play. Just a simple ALT+F10 and I have a minute of beast mode recorded. But they are EXPENSIVE! Does the 760 trade blows with the R9 280, 7950, 280x? I have went to gpuboss for info, but the site seems to be inflating nvidia and intel or deflating AMD...

GPU Boss is basically just a 'on paper' comparison. Only in-game tests will tell the true story.
The GTX 760 is a great card, but it falls a little short of the R9-280/HD 7950. And of course farther below the R9-280X/HD 7970. But sometimes perks like Shadowplay and PhysX sweeten the pie. Nvidia needs to fill the gap between the GTX 760 and the 770 with something like a 760 Ti.

I know this is a few months old but I wanted to let you know I went with an MSI R9 280X and MAN, let me tell you I had no idea the difference! I did have some trouble at first. where I was getting dips to the 30's but I did a fresh install of windows and started clean. I now see no less than 80 frames on ultra.
