MCL-AK73 :
Thank you very much for the info.
Some good reading that I haven't seen.
I do however play Skyrim(my favorite game) on some very crappy settings right now and zero mods. Would the Superclocked 6GB EVGA 780 be good for a fully modded Skyrim...or would a 3GB of any other choices suffice? I have no idea what mods I will use or how many, so my question is vague I know. But what would suit me? 6GB or 3GB?
Thanks again for the info...Im quite excited to get the 780 now. I will get the Superclocked but 3GB is multiple choice and EVGA is the only 6GB.
As you can see in the reviews, the SC is in last place or tied for last place in the reviews
As you can see here, when tested with the 2GB 770 versus 4GB 770,
no game of the 30 tested showed a substantial improvement going from 2GB to 4GB at 1920 x 1080..... some went slower. Note that just because a game can "use" or "claim" it's using more than 2 GB, that doesn't men it actually benefits from it.

Let’s only look at the games where there is more than a single FPS difference between the two GTX 770s @ 5760 x 1080.
At 1920 x 1080, this was ....
Metro went from 31.0 to 31.8 fps
Lost Planet 2 went from 85.8 to 85.2
Dirt Showdown went from 70.4 to 70.5
Sleeping Dogs went from 53.4 to 53.5
Hitman Absolution went from 49.6 to 49.8
Grid 2 went from 83.4 to 83.5
Last Light went from 44.5 to 45.8
Now the important part .....
There is one last thing to note with Max Payne 3: It would not normally allow one to set 4xAA at 5760×1080 with any 2GB card as it claims to require 2750MB. However, when we replaced the 4GB GTX 770 with the 2GB version, the game allowed the setting. And there were no slowdowns, stuttering, nor any performance differences that we could find between the two GTX 770s.
Getting the better MSI 780 3 Gb saves ya $110
As to the build...
MoBo / CPU - Ya paying $418 for ya MoBo / CPU Combo .... this saves $38 for an equivalent MoBo

RAM:
DDR3-1600 w/ better timings saves $7

DDR3-1866 for +$10

DDR3-2133 for +10

I'd take the 2133 in a heartbeat for $10 over the 1600 not only because it's a nice speed bump, it also has better timings than the competition and because it has premium Hynix modules (Gold Standard) for a 0.5% increase in system cost.
PSU - The Hx850 is one of the best PSUs ever made but this one is it's match and is $40 cheaper.
Case - Storm Scout is a decent case which garners a 9.2 rating but it's feature set doesn't match the Enthoo Pro which is $10 cheaper, won Case of the Year for 2014 and and gets a 9.5 rating

Burner - The Asus version will save ya $16
Unless ya **need** Bitlocker, there's no reason to get Ultimate ...saves another $48
One more thought..... is ya willing to pay $590 for the 6 GB 780, the MSI 780 Ti is only $80 more .... the changes above save you $110....so you could have a 780 Ti and still put $30 back in your pocket.
