First of all, I need the rest of the specs. Is this a desktop or a laptop? You will barley play games and I don't know if it is a core 2 duo or an i3. (I'm guessing because of the 3gb of ram it is a c2d). You will need a gpu/psu upgrade to play games

Maybe gta vice city will run fine, but games around that era only. Dx11 games like gta 4 or battlefield 4 won't even open, probably.

Processor speed itself has a big role. The amount of ram you have is very less and the cpu is slow (clock speed is not all that matters), but the gpu will make the biggest impact.

I have quad core 2.4 4gb ram 1gb amd 270x graphics card 500w power supply and the s seriers motherboard from 2008 and i can play almost anything inc rome2 shogun2 skyrim on med level this tower cost me £260 to build some bits second hand plus 500hd and case all im saying is play at your pace never go with the mags and games stores and other people there 99% bullshit out there my mates say i5 i7 i say u paying then hope this helps
