I want to build a system that will crush Archeage when it comes out and be good for the next 3-5 years.
Approximate Purchase Date: e.g.: End of September/Early October
Budget Range: $800-$1000
System Usage from Most to Least Important: Only building for gaming, I don't really do much else besides online stuff
Are you buying a monitor: No I currently have http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236112
Do you need to buy OS: No
Preferred Website(s) for Parts: I have a microcenter near me and sites I prefer are Newegg and Amazon
Location: Los Angeles, CA
Parts Preferences:
1. I was considering getting one of the cpu/mobo bundles from microcenter - specifically Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz (http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.aspx?sku=302356), so whatever mobo that I can bundle with that is appreciated.
2. For video card - at least a GTX 760 or R9 280/X or 290 if I can afford it.
Overclocking: Maybe - this will be my first build, so not looking to go crazy
SLI or Crossfire: Maybe in the future, but don't bend over backwards to make that work
Your Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080
Additional Comments: I realize this could be similar to the "mainstream/enthusiast build", but I'm guessing you can squeeze some more out of it if I'm able to do the microcenter deals?
And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: I currently only have a laptop, but it's 3 years old and I'm looking for a gaming rig that will last me a while.
Additional Question - if I waited till some black friday sales around Thanksgiving to buy everything, how much do you think I could save?
