Well, this is my first build i'm gunna be doing here in about 3-4 more weeks (I'm so excited)
Anyways, this is my question. I want a safe PSU, one that I won't have to worry about, and will never screw up my mobo or any other devices inside :3.

Currently I plan on have 7 fans total, 1 HDD and 1 optical, GTX770 2gb SC, and an i5 4690. So originally I was gunna get the EVGA bronze edition 750w modular, but instead I was wondering IF the Gold 650w would be safer, and also plenty for my system to run off of? I don't wanna have to worry about my PSU destroying something interally overtime, its always one of my scares when I think about building my first pc!! ^.^ thanks for the help guys

A decent 650w would be plenty and safe. There should be little to no difference in safety between a good bronze and a good gold PSU.

There are terrible gold units out there, gold just means it uses less (a few %) electricity to provide the same power. Gold units may be built on newer designs and have some newer features but they aren't necessarily safer. The only thing I can you think of is that a gold unit may have a longer hold up time when there is a power cut.

Yeah it is, the B2 is built on Super Flower's newest design whereas the G1 is based on a fairly old FSP design. The capstone is also based on SF's newest stuff too

As plywrlw said there not much different in safety..

the only different is the gold one targeting higher market level
so usually have more model/brands u can choose than bronze ones (with same protection feature)..

it will back to what model/type/series of PSU u looking at..
