Like the title says, either I go with Nvidia card SLI'd, or AMD's card crossfired. I will also be running an i7-4790K and watercooling the GPU's and the CPU. I'll be playing games. most games to be FPS. Running 3 monitors. All monitors only having DVI and or HDMI connections. Help is needed

thank you

The 280x performs virtually the same as a 770, but is much cheaper.
However, I could be wrong, and you'll have to search benches for yourself, but Nv's SLI is more stable and generally performs better than AMD's XF.

Hi sorry I refreshed the page and it took your answer as the best answer lol whatever but anyway yeah I was checking up on some graphics cards and it looked like the 770 was going to be the better buy because the MHz rate is better and the boost and core clocks.. I don't know if that really matters or not... but I guess it seems faster or something. But other than that I don't know if I should even purchase the nvidia card, btu if I do, should I get the 2gb version or the 4gb version?

Too late now. It IS the best answer :p

Clock rates etc don't mean much. The best indication of performance is performance.
Benchmarks show the actual performance of the 280x and 770 almost identical, with the 770 edging out here and there.

For the best, most reliable performance, get the best single card you can afford.
The 280x, 290 and 290x are the best single card options at their price points ATM.
Similarly priced Nv options are slower and or more expensive at this point in time.

SLI/XF changes things.
Performance never scales 100%, and having two cards doesn't use double the ram, so you are always losing out.
Historically, Nv cards perform better than AMD when used as a pair.
If you are set on using two cards, Nv will be a more reliable option.

Running 3 monitors or high resolution, id go for a single 290x, which has 4Gb.
A 780 Ti will be a little faster for ~$200 extra.
