Im pretty sure these are compatible but my computer says otherwise when i boot up

okay so i had to get a new motherboard as my other one died on me, i

my cpu is

Intel i5 core processor 2310

my motherboard is

Asus H61M-K LGA1155 mATX



i have researched the chipset of my cpu and it says it is compatible with a h61 express chipset which my motherboard has yet when i boot my computer the cpu fan spins really fast is really loud and on my screen it says this cpu is not supported.

can someone please help

Is the motherboard a newer type of 1155 socket? I'm not too sure whether that would make a difference as I am aware that you get things like H61(B3) - the reason I say this is because the processor was launched in 2011 or so and maybe the motherboard is a newer socket type. Correct me if I am wrong but I can't think of any other reason why an LGA1155 socket would reject an LGA1155 processor.

a friend managed to solve the problem the motherboard didnt support enough watts as the cpu needed
