Am also going to be making the switch too an i5 4690K and an MSI Gaming 3 board.

So my actual qeustion is this, will the XFX PSU am using hadle it? The unit itself is an XFX Pro Series 650w 80+ Bronze.

The R9 270X is 180W per GPU (360W GPU Power at max)
The CPU is about 80W max and with other standard stuff your build won't exceed ~500W so that power supply is perfect (since you don't want it running over 80% load as that reduces it's lifetime and efficiency)

That PSU will be fine. You only need 43A on the 12V rail for dual 270X's, that PSU has 53A available on the 12V rail.
Normally 700W is recommended but that doesn't take into account the quality of the PSU. Since that unit's pretty good quality it should easily be able to handle it.

yes no problem the 650 watt psu can easily handle 2 x r9 270x if your board supports crossfire then you are good to go....and the i5 4690k max tdp is 88 watt not 80 but that will make no difference.....
