Headphones sound flat through laptop

I have bought a brand new laptop (Dell Inspiron 15 3000) and also a new pair of studio quality headphones (Sol Republic Master Tracks). The headphones are fine, they sound great through my iPhone, sounded awesome in-store, so I know the problem isn't that. I can hear everything through them, but they sound terrible. Very weak tones, flat and bland, there is no bass or fullness like I can hear through my phone

I'm not that computer savvy, how can I fix this???

Have you installed any software with the headphones (there might be drivers for them to fully enhance the technology). I know it is like this with headsets however I am not sure about headphones.

There was no software to install, might be worth looking up though. I saw through other threads it was related to a DTS problem, however I can't find anything close to that on my laptop..
