Last year, I bought this HDD. I left it connected to my pc 24/7 (I heard that modern HDDs automatically go to sleep after certain period of inactivity. So this shouldn't be a problem.........right ?)
And yesterday, my window couldn't detect the HDD(the blue LED light was lit up).
Naturally, I unplugged it then plugged it again. Then, the LED light didn't lit up and window couldn't detect.
So I rebooted my pc. Window now detect the HDD(it shows under the disk management section) but I can't access the data.(Can't see any partition).

Already Tried
-uninstalling and reinstalling the driver. (driver installed successfully. But still can't access the partition)
- plugging in another pc.
but nothing change.

My hard disk current status
- the LED light doesn't lit up. <--- This worries me the most
- No clicking noise.
- I can still hear the spinning sound.
- No physical injury at all.

What might be the problem ? Was it overheat from continuous connectivity ?
And most importantly, how do i recover/extract my data from that state ?

See if it just needs a drive letter assigning to it (Windows Explorer can't display partitions or drives that have no drive letter).
Follow instructions for "Adding" a drive letter here: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows/change-add-remove-drive-letter#1TC=windows-7

You can't recover data from a hard drive that isn't recognised by Windows because of drive failure or faulty drive.
That is why you should always back up your data to at least two hard drives, not just one.

If the data is absolutely imperative that you get it back, you'll have to send it to a data recovery specialist. They use recovery methods that you can't perform at home (specialised equipment) but it's a very expensive service. Another reason why keeping multiple backups is so important.

Damn, plugged my drive to the pc again to check that "assigning letter".

But disk management no longer recognize the drive!!!!!! Tried replugging but same result.
Now my drive only showed up in the device manager as "unspecified"
