What would be the highest video card i can run with a Seasonic G series 550w. would like to stay with the AMD side of things.

Anything up to the R9 280x would be fine if you are not running an overclocked AMD CPU..

Since you have an APU, it will bottleneck high end cards like the R9 280X.

Get something like a R9 270 or R9 270x for optimal CPU and GPU balance.
