I have been having this problem for a while now. I am using 2 monitors, one is using a VGA connection and my main screen is using an HDMI. When I load up my computer all of the colours are really dark and horrible and I have to change the resolution in the control panel of Nvidia down to a frequency of 59Hz refresh for the colours to return to normal again. This wouldnt bother me as much if it only happened once, but after I load up a game or close down a game or program which requires full screen mode the colours turn horrible again so I have to carry out the temporary fix after loading up every program which is very frustrating! I would really appreciate it if someone could help :(

Solution
As your problem arised recently and not from first day. Here are some things to do.
1: most probably its a driver issue. Upgrade to latest drivers or uninstall and install again. Also check recently new installed software and try uninstalling some.
2. Check for any software bottlenecks vsync etc you might have checked unknowingly in settings of nvidia , monitor etc try default ever where.
3: try using only a single monitor and see if problem persists.
4. Clean up your PC . air blow and remove dust. Unplug replug wires and check power supply for odd sound etc.
5. Finally Put That GPU In Another Build Or A Friend's PC And Test. You Might Need Warranty Claim Or Repair Of Problem Persists. Report Back Here please so I can learn more.
