Hello tomshardware community,

I am having troubles with my new graphic card, Indeed, I bought it because friends of mine recommended it, strong as the newest nvidia they said. But whenever i try to play a game , my fps are low, and my friends say they dont have this issue with the same card. I went up to dxdiag, to see if everything was normal, and I found an anomaly: When i launch it on 64bits , it shows 2 times less memory than i have. I was wondering why i had this issue, and if it can be the cause of my low fps. Here are some pictures so you can see useful information about my GPU, and see the difference of memory between x32 and x64.

64bits dxdiag : http://image.noelshack.com/fichiers/2014/34/1408544424-x64.png

(sorry about the french language, I am from belgium, but informations are easily comprehensible though.)

If that can help, I have windows 7 64bits integral edition , with an Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 930 @ 2.80GHz (8 CPUs), ~2.8GHz processor with 6144MB RAM.

And my graphic card is an AMD Radeon R9 270 Dual X 4GB OC. I already checked on internet, and i cant find any solution.

Thank you for taking the time of reading this and helping me, Im not a computer genius ^^

Thats normal, DXdiag has been broken for a long time now.

What I would do is download MSi Afterburner then use the On Screen Display options and just play normally and when it dips check to see what is causing it. (Vram being maxed out, GPU at 100%, etc)

The dxdiag shows the exact memory usable. If you get a 1gb card, the dxdiag wont show you 1gb.I bought a hd 7770 1GB and it shows exactly 732mb as the remaining memory goes with other processes.....and if you run a 64bit os,the 64 bit dxdiag shows you the best.If you still doubt about it,go with GOOGLE as it has more info than all of us

Well , my GPU on some games ( like Skyrim, with enbseries ) is always at 98% , and the temperature is changing from 50 to 65°C , and i see on the screen display " Ram : 3880Mb " , or something , my max graphic card ram is 4095Mb, is there something in there i should be worried of ?

That sounds about right for skyrim with ENBs. I don't really see anything out of the ordinary except maybe the ram usage, last I knew you couldn't go above 3gb or it crashes. That might have changed though.

Are there any other issues you want me to take a look at?
