Hi,

What happens is im upgrading my old HP Pavilion with a brand new build, but im not ordering all the parts at once due to lack of fundings. So I was basically wondering if i can fit either a GTX760, 770 or 280x on this Motherboard ? : IPIBL-LB (Benicia)
Mobo
For now I have a Sapphire HD7750 wich isnt enough anymore for mostly of the games today.
I also changed the psu for a Thermaltake Tr2 700w Bronze 80+
Thermaltake TR2 700W

im looking to improve my gaming experience for the best slowly and safely, that's why im just making sure that my choices are right before spending all my monies - I'm not a complete beginner in this. I have a bunch of games even if I own a crap PC for the moment. I really like to try the new stuff coming out, so I end up having variable Framerates on a bunch of different Games.
I would like something that could handle a stable 60Fps In 1920x1080 on most of the demanding games such as
Metro Last Light, Bf4, Watch Dogs, Arma 3 & 2, Etc ...
My first choice was a ROG Striker GTX 760 4Gb, But i only have one display so im kinda tempted to upgrade to a 770 since I could use that bit more power in AA & Ultra Textures.
What do you guys suggest ?

I eventually Plan to upgrade the whole system to a new build for something under 1000$

  • Cpu: Vishera 8350 or i5 4690k / i7 4790k
    Ram: 8/16Gb 2133Mhz G.Skill Sniper
Storage: WD Blue 1TB Sata III (will add 500Gb Samsung 840 Evo later)
    Psu:Thermaltake TR2 700W Bronze 80+
    Board : ASUS M5A99FX PRO R2.0 (AMD) or MSI Z97-Gaming 3(Intel)
    Cpu Cooler : Corsair H80i
Case : Corsair 230T Mid ATX (Black w/ Red or Blue fans)
    Gpu : Gtx 760/770/280x ?
The thing is I know that Broadwell CPU's are coming later this year and im kinda tempted to wait untill then . I also wanted to wait for the pascal generation of Gpu's but it's not coming before 2016. So I figured it was time to upgrade for something temporary while I wait for a real 4K ready systems.
Any Suggestions, Feedback or Comments are the welcome & thanks for taking the time to read this, it is really greatly appreciated.
Sorry for my long post, I had a lot of small questions.

if you want something for under $1000 this is my recommendation
CPU: Intel I5 4690k (perfect for gaming) or AMD FX 8350
GPU: Sapphire R9 280x or Nvidia 770 or 780
Ram: 8GB Vengance or Hyper X
Storage: Samsung 120BG SSD (for you OS) 1TB HHD your choice
PSU: 700W Cossair Gold
Board:ASUS M5A99FX PRO R2.0
CPU Cooler: Corsair H80i
Case: this comes down to preference I like cool master cases but that's just me

if you want to know anymore info from me let me know

I also like the parts you picked but Considering my current rig and this board, do you think I can Fit a 770 or 280x in this meanwhile I order the other Parts ? Cause I might wait for Broadwell instead of buying an Haswell cpu.
Current Crap :
CPU :Core 2 Quad 2.3Ghz
RAM: 4Gb Kingston 800Mhz DDR2
GPU: Sapphire HD7750 1GB
Mobo : IPIBL-LB (Benicia)
PSU : Thermaltake Tr2 700w Bronze 80+
Storage: Current Old WD 500gb that i scavenged on my older P4 (probably what slows me down ingames)
Good news is the new HDD 1TB WD Blue is on it's way.
I just want to run Bf4 on high without constantly stuttering and lagging.

If your computer had enough room with higher end graphics cards you need to make sure that you have both the PSU power avalible and also enough room in your case as they are big due to cooling systems if you have 600+ PSU you need a 6 prong power supply for both the 770 and r9 280 and a medium to large case and a spare Pcie slot you will be find

For the case My current gpu is barely Clearing on the bottom of the PSU (Wich is on the top of the tower), Basically i think that the HD7750 is a small card since it's facing up. my board is a Micro-ATX so im not quite sure that would fit, the case itself is kind of a small compact computer. for the power it seems fine tho.
I guess If i order the GPU and a Midtower Case i could fit my current crap with the 770 or 280x meanwhile I upgrade the cpu, mobo and ram.

It looks a bit like this (sorry for bad image but that's all i could find)

Hi Shnuqc,

That picture is fine just by looking at it I can tell that there will not be enough room for some of the new Graphics cards we were talking about, I would recommends looking at some now midtower cases from people like coolmaster or Cassair as they both usually really good quality and price, with your powersupply being 700W you will be ok although from the picture I can't see a 6 pong power cable free its like the one plugged into the motherboard near the CPU just with 6 pins and not 4, if you don't have one of these spare get a new PSU :)

From what I can tell that is BTX. I have a BTX case, Dell Dimension 9200. At first glance you wouldn't think a longer card would fit in, but I got an MSI GTX 960 with the Twin Frozr V cooling, so even though I had to put it in upside down (fans on top) and it took up two slots, it fit in. You may have to do the cables over again. In mine most of them go around the top front corner of the motherboard, leaving that area open.
