So yesterday I received a XFX R9 280x for a build I was doing. I set it up and everything was working fine. No problems whatsoever. I ran a few benchmarks and games , that was it. The computer would boot fine , as I was testing an SSD. Earlier today , I was using the computer and the monitor just went black and then went into standby. I restarted the computer and the monitor wouldn't start up. I could hear windows 7 start up , but couldn't see it. I checked inside my case , and everything was fine. I went and tried a different monitor , it just showed "No signal" Then I took another look inside my case , and the VGA LED was solid red. I reseated the card , but this didn't solve the problem. I switched out the card to an old HD7770 , and it booted fine. I went back to my 280x and the problem persisted. The fans spin up still , and the 6+8 pin power cables are seated firmly. I have tried both DVI ports and the HDMI port. I have tried the other PCIE slot , and same problem. My specs are as follows :

Cpu: FX 8320
PSU: EVGA 600B
RAM : 2 x 4Gb Crucial ballistix sport
GPU : XFX R9 280x DD
MOBO : M5a97 Evo R 2.0

Hope I don't have to RMA.

The TDP of the 280X is 250 W, placing it well over the 80 W in the 7770. It's placing a heavy strain on your PSU, so you'll need to upgrade that. The EVGA 600B is on a low tier for PSU reliability. A quality 650w or greater PSU will suffice.

I have seen builds with my psu and GPU that have been running fine. It was working perfectly fine before. Seems very strange that it would suddenly stop working. It just randomly cut out while I was watching a livestream.
