Hi, I am looking to purchase a gaming capture card for my PS4. From research, I have found the two most popular and usually regarded as the best for "plug and play" experiences are the Elgato and the AVermedia Live Gamer Portable. From personal experience, which do you prefer? So far the only thing is the Avermedia records at 60mbps vs 30mbps from the elgato. I will be doing anything from recording gameplay, doing live commentaries, streaming to twitch and uploading to YouTube, and recording gameplay then adding commentary after I have recorded. So which is better? and if you have a recommendation for a different capture card in the ~$150 price range, then please tell me. I have also seen the Roxio Game Capture HD, so if you have any thoughts on that please feel free to share. Thanks

More about : elgato avermedia lgp

to reply to you the elgato does all its compression on the pc processor while the the avermedia lgp has its own processor to take stress off the computer for you maybe the lgp is the way to go but im not an expert like i said i have the older elgato

I personally have an elgato the older model. the hd60 is out now. but from my experiences with this and other research i did when i purchased this one is it is the best.

I recently contacted elgato support asking about that 30Mbps stuff and what they say is that they compress better than the competition how reliable that is i dont know but the hd 60 which just came out records 1080p 60fps while the old elgato and lgp only do 1080p 30 fps unless you play at 720p then it will do 60fps so id go for the hd 60 its 180 us dollars and just some more info the hd 60 records at 40Mbps so thats all i know hope it helps.
