Command and Conquer Generals wont work

My game has worked before. I bought a better computer and when i downloaded it the game would load then it would crash and not start please help!!

What are your old system specs and what are you new system specs?

Have you tried running C&CG with a compatibility mode for like windows XP or something?

Yes i have ran it in compatibility mode that didn't work my new specs are nvidia geforce 310,12 gb ram i dont know the cpu but it is fast.
