I have tried to turn on the wireless radio by pressing Fn+F2 and all it does is pop up a dialog box that has WAN & Blutooth and I make sure that the WAN is selected however the radio does not start working.

I get a message that the wireless adapter is not installed or unplugged and to plug it back in. Only problem is this is an Asus U47A Laptop and I have not been inside the case except to add RAM that went without a hitch.

Please help if you can; I have been at computers since 1970 but have not been able to get it to work after working on it for 5 Days. You can contact me at <personal information removed by moderator>

Thanks! Robert

Solution
Try re-installing the wireless network driver from ASUS website. For UK it's here: http://www.asus.com/uk/support/
For other countries, click the link at bottom-left of page.

If driver says it can't find compatible hardware, it's not listed in Device Manager, and no unknown devices are listed, the wireless adapter itself may be broken/faulty
