My computer won't continue the process of starting up after a couple of incidents where the screen would look weird (thin pinkish purple lines) then turn black, but still running. Now the computer won't go to its usual log in screen and either goes to the normal dell loading screen then to a completely black screen or to the windows 8 advanced start-up options. I tried literally every option and nothing has worked.

I contacted dell and they sent me a windows 8 recovery disk after telling me to run some diagnostics. It passed all diagnostic tests. When trying to re install the OS with the recovery disk everything seemed to be going well, until I got to a screen that had two options: Install windows 8 or windows 8.1. Before I could even blink an eye the screen changed and went to the same old black and white DELL logo with the loading circle. The screen went blank, but the computer was still running. I no longer get the windows advanced start-up options screen when turning on the computer. Instead either get that same black screen or get a Recovery screen with several options that don't seem to work. There is an error code: 0xc0000001. DELL offered help but there are ridiculously priced charges and I'm skeptical that they can really fix this.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Solution
Windows got already some data written on the HDD, that's why it won't go through the initial process again. Assuming all the hardware is OK (from the tests you ran already), you can create a bootable disk with a disk wipe utility (like Killdisk, for instance) using a different PC, then boot your Dell from that disk, completely wipe the HDD and then perform a clean install of the OS again.
If that still fails, it could be the HDD controller that's busted (on the HDD) and will need to replace the HDD.
