I'm sick of paying the cable guy to rent receivers for each TV in my home. Any way I can just pay for the 1 box and get the signal to my other TV's? Will their remotes work?

you can buy cable card, contact your cable company to see if they supported it.

If your home is or can be wire-networked, you can build a Home Theater PC (HTPC) with a multi-tuner card attached/added. This multi-tuner device would require a cablecard from your cable company, but it would support up six simultaneous channels (more if you have multiple multi-tuner cards). In addition to the HTPC, each TV location would require a media extender device which could be assigned one of the tuners from the multi-tuner card.

There is a high, upfront cost here, but, depending on how many set top boxes you currently need (and can get rid of), eventually there will be a cost savings.

You would need to run either HDMI or Cat5/5e/6 to each TV from the box with 10BaseT adapters if don't use HDMI. You would also need a distribution box with enough outputs for all of your TVs. You would also need a remote at each TV that would send to the cable box either via RF/Wifi or additional cable and IR receivers. All in all you will spend enough to pay for multiple cable boxes for quite a while.
